Bratacha was officially launched in Cabinteely Park, with “Europe in Bloom” being unveiled. This is a garden in which the colours of each member state of the EU are included.
Dun Laoghaire was ablaze with colour last Saturday, with hundreds of flags to be seen. Bratacha is the Irish for “Flags”, and the festival included a grand parade of people representing over 40 countries, exhibitions, a geneaology village and trad sessions.
There were various marching bands along with vintage cars and floats for the onlookers to enjoy.
